Love Birds Valentine Using Hero Arts January 2018 kit

Hello everyone and welcome to Faire Chase Lane. Today we are making a trifold card using one of the add-on supplies for the Hero Arts' January 2018 kit.

I used two patterned papers from a 12 X 12 designer collection. A blue paper for the card base and a yellow/green paper for the decorated card panels.

To make the trifold card, cut the blue paper to 5.5 X 12 and fold it into thirds.  The green paper was cut smaller than the card base sections so each panel is framed by blue when the card is assembled.

Stamp, color, and die cut the love birds.  I used watercolor paper, Arteza watercolor markers, and a water brush to color mine. The water brush helps to blend the colors so the birds looks little more sophisticated.

The dies leave a border around the birds you can cut off or color black if you have trouble coloring inside the lines like I do.

The background was stenciled with some branches to add a little character, if you don't have a stencil, you can draw the branches, they don't need a lot of detail.

So the birds have something to sit on, I used the branch stamp and die that came in the bird package, coloring the branch with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I cut the leaves off so they looked like the stenciled branches.

Make tiny cuts separating the birds' feet from their bodies so they can sit on the branches.

The card is assembled with the glue and finished with sentiments and sequins. I used script letter stamps for my sentiments, stamping them directly onto the card panel which I rarely do because it is easy to make a mistake and ruin your card.  The supplies I had to work with were limited so I used what I had, and as you can see from the first photo, I struggled a little with the lettering, but I'm still happy with the card.
