Shopping Our Stash #342

Hello everyone. Today I'm participating in the Shopping Our Stash challenge.  I had been a jewelry maker for many years but my eyes just won't see the little seed beads anymore so I recently switched to paper crafts.  I don't have much of a stash but I like the projects this group has been doing.

I used one of the bird stamp sets Hero Arts released with their February card kit, but I did break out some old yellow paints to marble cardstock with, I found a cloud stencil I forgot I had, and after some black ink ended up where it shouldn't have, I broke out some old sequins to finish the card with.

If you are interested in my marbling technique, check out my last post on February 22nd. I provided instructions there.   Is this link to this challenge if you want to check it out.

I was very pleasantly surprised when this card won a top three badge at Shopping Our Stash. Thank you to everyone who participated.

  1. Fabulous card Lori!
Love the wee birds in their nest!
Thanks for coming home sweet home with the crew from SHOPPING OUR STASH this week!

  2. Hi, Lori, and welcome to Shopping Our Stash! We are glad you are here, and the great thing about SOS is that you get to just use what you have! Our emphasis (as the name suggests) is just to "shop your stash" and use items that you have had for a while (or a long time!), which is why I fell in love with the challenge as I am a craft hoarder. There, I said it.
Anyway, I LOVE your card! The birds are so sweet, and I will definitely go check out your marbling technique. The thing I noticed that really caught my eye are those leaves... did you use DOx to ink them? They look so cool! Thank you for sharing at SOS, and we hope you'll visit tomorrow (Tuesday) for our next challenge.

  3. Woo Hoo!! so glad you found our challenge blog and I hope you come and play along with us often.
I just love your card, the birds are beautiful and look so sweet on their nest.
Beautiful background, love the marbling technique.
Thank you for sharing with us at SHOPPING OUR STASH, hope you play again next time.
