Shopping Our Stash #344 National Dress Day

Hello everyone.  This week was a real challenge for me.  I wear a dress to work almost every day but had no idea what to make for this National Dress Day Challenge. My initial thoughts were to use old doll clothes, or paper doll pieces, or childhood game parts, but we just downsized and I no longer have any of these in the house.  I don't sew, so there aren't any fabric scraps laying around. What to do? What to do?

This is why like the Shopping Our Stash group, I had to give this a little thought.
I decided to draw a dress.  I can't draw, that is why I use stamps, but with no dress related stamps on hand, I had to get creative. I think it turned out OK.

I wanted to play with patterns a little so I chose two papers from a DCWV Inc. Black and White paper pad I bought some time ago thinking it would be a good investment for future Halloween crafts. I couldn't find this exact collection, but I provided a link to a similar collection below if you are interested.

Wishing for Spring (we have more snow coming our way here) I used the green cardstock paper from the Recollections Brights collection. The dress was outlined with black cardstock paper which was also used as a layer on top of the green card base.
The card was finished with a ribbon and a black embossed stamp from the Simon Says October 2017 monthly kit.

I hope you liked this card idea and will visit me again at Faire Chase Lane.  If you are interested in the Shopping Our Stash Challenge please visit

  2. Lori! You are, like, totally a regular! I love it! This card is amazing. Your sketch is perfect, and the polka dots look absolutely appropriate on that style of dress. Such an encouraging card on International Woman's Day! Thank you for playing with us at Shopping Our Stash!

  3. I think your dress turned out beautifully! It looks great! I can't believe you drew it! Great job! Thank you for sharing it with us at Shopping Our Stash! Cyndi, DT
