Shopping Our Stash #345 - Put A Bird On It

This week we are putting a bird on our Shopping Our Stash challenge project.
I wanted the bird to look like he was flying into lighter skies so the card began with sponging Black Soot Distress Oxide ink onto a grey cardstock to get an ombre effect.  The small feathers from the February Hero Arts' monthly card kit were stamped with Candied Apple, Wild Honey, Lucky Clover, Broken China, and Wilted Violet Distress Inks on watercolor paper.

The bird was cut from watercolor paper using a die from the same Hero Arts' kit.  I wanted him to be white but needed to relate the feather colors to him so using Arteza Real Brush Markers I painted the edges of the bird with rainbow colors then dabbed them with a water brush to spread the color a little.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp! Best Ever stamp set, was embossed in black, onto the grey cardstock, then sponged with Black Soot. The decorated panel was glued to a black cardstock base.

I hope you liked this card idea.  If you would like to participate in the Shopping Our Stash challenges go to www.shoppingourstash.blogspot.co.uk
