Beach Please

Welcome.  This week the colors at the Color Throwdown challenge are yellow, green, aqua, and white and the topic at the Shopping Our Stash challenge is "Beach". Perfect!

These underwater friends are looking for a little dry sand to relax on and get some sun.
For this card I blended Salty Ocean and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Inks, sprinkled water on them, and cut three panels of varying sizes.

The three panels were glued together asymmetrically and the crabs were set in place using foam tape.

The crabs had been stamped with a Stamper's Anonymous "Sea Life" image and embossed in white. They were colored with Arteza watercolor markers, then covered in Glossy Accents. Their bodies lost definition after all that so next time I will emboss them in black.

The card was finished with a sentiment from the Simon Says "Sea You Soon" stamp set on a banner sponged with Lucky Glover Distress Oxide Ink. A few white pearl drops were added for additional texture.

I hope enjoyed your visit here today.  Please stop by the challenge blogs and check out the very talented work posted there at Color Throwdown and Shopping Our Stash

  1. Just adore this! The way you layered the inked panels shows off such great inky variation-- and the crabs match perfectly! I think they look great, but when you said next time you'd emboss in black, I'm thinking that would be equally as good, though I can't say it could look better than this. Cute sentiments, too. Thanks for sharing at SOS this week.

  2. I love, love the background papers you created, they are the perfect background for your colorful crabs, I think they look great just the way you stamped them. The sentiment is exactly what I've been saying for a long time, "Beach Please!!!!!" I'm anxiously waiting for the temperatures to be good enough for a trip to the beach.
Thank you for playing at SHOPPING OUR STASH, hope you play again soon.

  3. Super cute background and adorable little crabs, love that you popped them up. Thanks for making a beach scene for us at shopping our stash.
